Lunar New Year is upon us, with festivities planned around our region. KUOW’s Ruby de Luna talked to Kim Malcolm about food, events, and why the holiday is so significant for Asian Americans.
The Asian American community has been the target of an increasing number of hate crimes in the past few years. Their talk includes the status of another attempt in the Washington state legislature to have Lunar New Year officially recognized.
