Katy Sewall is a back-up announcer/host for KUOW and a feature reporter. She's a PRINDI award-winning producer who trained with Radiolab and toured with A Prairie Home Companion. Her work has appeared on The Takeaway, Here & Now, the BBC, and more. Her specialty is human interest stories. Her radio feature titled "The sad story behind ‘White Christmas,’ America’s favorite Christmas carol," is a holiday favorite. Her other feature titled "What's Your Favorite Color, Sweetheart? 'The Blood'" continues to shock people every Halloween. Katy spent nine years as the Senior Producer of Weekday with Steve Scher, the flagship two-hour daily morning show that aired on KUOW for nearly twenty years.
She's currently the host and creator of the international podcast The Bittersweet Life, which explores life's big questions with humor, intelligence and big-name guests.
