Steve Alexander serves as the Director of Donor Engagement at KUOW, providing strategic guidance to the team dedicated to donor stewardship. Together, Steve and his team drive KUOW's content forward through a human-centered fundraising strategy, ensuring that the organization remains deeply connected to its supporters. With over two decades of experience in non-profit leadership, marketing and fundraising, Steve's journey with KUOW began in 2021, where he remains steadfast in his commitment to continual growth alongside his colleagues.

Throughout his career, Steve has been privileged to lead the fundraising efforts of various organizations. Steve’s career and fundraising success are attributable to the invaluable generosity and support of the communities he's had the fortune to work with, especially those who have shaped his human-centered mindset to fundraising. Drawing inspiration from his diverse experiences at esteemed institutions such as the UN Refugee Agency, Doctors Without Borders, Greenpeace, ASPCA and others, Steve champions causes, like public radio, which align with his core values — resilience, justice, compassion, vulnerability and authenticity.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Steve holds a deep appreciation for community service. He is honored to be a member of Seattle’s Leadership Tomorrow program, where he continues to glean valuable insights and perspectives that enrich his approach to leadership and service.
