Teo Popescu
Creative Manager
About
Teo Popescu is the Creative Manager at KUOW. She leads creative strategy and production for KUOW's video and graphic storytelling. She also reports original content for KUOW’s social media channels and has contributed reporting for KUOW web stories. You can see Teo's work on KUOW's Instagram and TikTok pages (coming soon!).
Teo joined KUOW in April 2018 as the Graphic Design Lead. In that role she managed KUOW's podcast brands, provided data visualizations for web stories and co-managed daily visual posts for KUOW's Instagram account. Prior to KUOW, Teo managed Microsoft's Cloud for Global Good campaign and served as a communications, policy and design consultant for various government, nonprofit, and private entities. In college, she covered state policy for PubliCola news. In addition, her work has appeared on HBO's Problem Areas and has been featured at the Cannes Young Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Teo is an immigrant from Romania and has lived in Europe, Canada, and both coasts of the U.S. She finds community by learning about an area's history. Because of this upbringing, she strongly believes in a visual, context-driven approach to journalism that is accessible for everyone.
When she's not busy designing, Teo is trying to teach her dog fetch, ice skating or recording an actual play podcast.
